About the Center
Purposes of the Palouse Center for Conflict Management, Inc.:
Services provided by the center:
All of our volunteer mediators are highly skilled community mediators; most are also certified by the Idaho Mediation Association, Inc. (IMA) as "Certified Professional Mediators." Besides basic training in conflict management, all volunteer mediators have additional training in other areas, including facilitation, negotiation, small claims mediation, human resources, family mediation, environmental mediation, agricultural mediation, restorative justice (victim offender) mediation, employment/workplace mediation, compassionate communication (non-violent communication), and more.
Several area mediators have formed a non-profit community mediation center (a dispute resolution center) called the Palouse Center for Conflict Management, Inc. In late March of 2005, the Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Idaho Secretary of State, and as of March 30, 2005, the center is an entity. On April 20, 2005, the center's Board of Directors met to organize the center by adopting bylaws, electing officers, and passing resolutions. The IRS has granted the center tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status; contributions to the center are deductible under section 170 of the Code.
